Hidden in the Gulf Savannah of Queensland is a natural wonder you will want to put on your bucket list.
CAMPS Ambassadors Dan and Manda cruised the gorge and trekked the walls, capturing these beautiful images.
The only access to this unique landmark is via a guided tour. The rugged sandstone cliffs are up to 19 metres high, and includes an area of about 80 square kilometres. The gorge narrows to just 2 metres in places which indicates that it is the youngest known gorge in Queensland today. Be wowed by the geological processes you will see!
They stayed at Cobbold Gorge Village, 45 km south west of Forsayth via Cobb Rd. It is pet friendly and accessible by conventional vehicles. It has all the facilities you would expect of a caravan park – plus a little more. It is not often you can swim to the bar, in an infinity pool, in the bush!
Try aqua golf in the billabong – plus kayaks are available free of charge. Wifi is available at the bar, pool and reception.
As well as ensuite cabins, powered and unpowered sites they offer self-contained sites. These bush camping areas are unpowered with designated fire pits.
Fuel is not for sale, however there is a store at reception. Note that tap water is sourced from the Robertson River.
Cobbold Gorge reopens April to October, however you can book now for your adventure.
Find this site in the CAMPS AUSTRALIA WIDE App, Caravan Parks 5 and new CAMPS Pendium book set.
