As well as visiting New South Wales’ highest waterfall this month, we have a big announcement on water points.
Authorised, that is. We now have many approved water points in the CAMPS App. Now, we don’t mean stealing water from a local sports ground, or siphoning from beach showers – these are sites where you can confidently fill up your tanks.
However it is a huge job, and we ask your help. If you know of an authorised water point, please add it directly to the app, or send us an email. Add a photo if you have one. They can be paid or unpaid locations, however must be accessible to the travelling public.
Now from waterpoints, let’s travel back to waterfalls and the magnificent Waterfall Way in NSW.
Dorrigo has a National Park full of falls: Crystal Shower, Tristana, Red Cedar, Casuarina and a skywalk. We swam at Dangar Falls in town, with a caravan park next to it …
FINALLY UP CLOSE
After fires and upgrade, the multiple tiers, lookouts and picnic areas at Ebor Falls at Guy Fawkes River National Park is impressive. Camp at the Sports Ground or the hotel…
With a 220m drop, Wollomombi Falls is exhilarating, and you can see Chandler Falls. Set up at the nearby Oxley Wild Rivers National Park campground or choose sites in the village.
Created a rec reserve in 1882 and now national park, have a dip in Blue Hole and walk to Gara Gorge, a weir and old dam or along the cascading river…
Also in Oxley Wild Rivers National Park, camp near Dangars Falls and you can walk to loads of lookouts plus Mihi Falls. Camp here for Blue Hole, too.
From the Coffs Coast, take the breathtaking 185km roadtrip called the Waterfall Way. You can experience 5 national parks, 6 country towns and at least a dozen waterfalls. In fact, you’ll drive right next to Sherrard and Newell Falls. Plus don’t miss these side trips!
