A good percentage of camping and caravanning travellers stop at Caravan Parks in Australia. There are thousands to choose from, and you do not need to be self-sufficient. This means they are suitable for all types of camping, from swags, rooftop tents, tents, camper trailers, campers, motorhomes and caravans.
Few have room for Big Rigs, however caravan parks also offer cabins or glamping. Many caravan parks are located in idyllic spots – close to town or beachside.
Many campers start their adventures in caravan parks as you have familiar comforts and facilities from home. Families can seek out extra attractions like water parks, jumping pillows and playgrounds – which means you can enjoy a get together and not even leave the park!

After an overhaul two years in the making, Queens Grove Caravan Village is a great find only 12 km from Perth. With very reasonable rates, the park is now host to multiple paved powered sites, and brand new amenities which are spotlessly clean. Much of the Village has new lawn, as well as disabled facilities, dump point and is pet-friendly. The flight-path above will keep the keen plane enthusiast entertained, with one traveller suggesting downloading a flight tracker app so you can see where the planes are going! Previously called Ongerup Gardens Caravan Park, new owners Lee and Stephen Baker welcome travellers to their corner of WA. The park is perfectly situated between the Stirling Range and Fitzgerald River National Parks. Home of the Yongergnow Australian Malleefowl Centre with its own aviary as well as a sanctuary for this endangered species. There’s also a cafe with coffee and light meals available. In September / October you can visit the Wildflower Show. Lee also recommends a visit to the Ongerup Museum. Denham Seaside is the most westerly Caravan Park in Australia, where you can watch the country’s last sunset from your RV. We stayed at this caravan park a few years back, and they were kind enough to accommodate us in their overflow area during the busy WA school holidays. It was a great base to explore beautiful Shark Bay attractions, stromatolites at Hamelin Pool, Shell Beach and feed dolphins at Monkey Mia. And much more.
