Hello Summer! Cool down and camp along Australia’s Waterfall Way

We just had the BEST week. Our “schoolies” included 5 waterfalls, 8 national parks, 8 pubs and a whopping 20 waterside camps! We followed major rivers – the mighty Clarence and Belliger, lulled to sleep on Nymboida’s rapids, onto dips in the Gwydir and Bielsdown Rivers as well as the Reedy and Never Never Creeks. From uggies to togs, we checked out farms, showgrounds, bridges, halls, forests, hikes, a suspension bridge, a skywalk and met lovely fellow travellers. Instead of a partridge in a pear tree, there was a very noisy cockatoo! I admit, because we are scoping out new camps,

Can you believe December is almost here – and yes, that means Santa is less than 4 weeks away!  So today’s newsletter focuses on summer! We gift you four amazing experiences across the country – a BBQ boat, up close with wild dolphins (and we’re not in Monkey Mia), a national park haven and kid friendly campground. Plus we finish with a recipe to serve up for a festive nibbly or a wholesome lunch. We are just back from a quick New South Wales road trip, and looking forward to sharing our highlights. You still have time to order a brand new

Do you really love animal encounters? Here’s our top picks and camps

Mamma turtles are nesting and Year 12s around the country are leaving their nests for sandy schoolies’ destinations! I know there will be a few around our area camping at K’gari Fraser Island and Inskip Point.  You really can’t get closer to nature, can you, than when you are camping? Here are some animal encounters at an outback beachside station! We chat about our turtle experience and island dingos in Queensland, birdwatching and treks in Victoria’s Alpine National Park and where to find Tassie wombats… Heatley’s mum and sister had the best time at a NSW zoo last week! 5 country pub crackers for great camping

It’s been a big week for us! SOOO good to be back on the road again, even just for a quick weekender! The new deck at Theebine Hotel is huge and we were lucky to be among the first to dance on it. Pubs and camping are a fun combination – so we’ve filled the newsletter with them. Most of these camps are free and all are pet friendly. We take you to an awesome NT camp close to Berry Springs and the Territory Wildlife Park, a WA tavern just over an hour from Perth, a riverside pub near the NSW

What you need to travel Australia

Cape Keraudren WA – image Ken Herne From Ken Herne: “I hope to provide some inspiration to those people debating whether you need this and that in order to travel around Australia. My wife and I have just returned home after completing 26,000 klm and 6 months touring around Western Australia, NT, SA and Victoria living in our 18’ 1964 Wayfarer caravan. We were very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We free and low cost camped the majority of the time, left the TV and generator at home and did not have air conditioning and did not miss any of
