Arkaringa Station Views
Camping

5 reasons to visit Arckaringa station on our across the centre of Australia adventure

One of the prettiest spots we visited was Arckaringa station in South Australias outback.   Here is why we loved it and why we think you will too. Arckaringa station  is the closest campground and accommodation to the magnificent painted desert. Just the painted desert road is an amazing one to travel through. The views at the campground are beautiful. You are just looking out to the outback and I was pretty wrapped with what we could see. However at sunset I realised that the station campground also has views to the painted desert! You are just off the Oodnadatta

Free Camp at Toapin Weir, Western Australia

Toapin Weir is a free camp only two hours from Perth, and 8 km north of Quairading, Western Australia. This is a picturesque overnighter – along with the great views and interesting history there are electric BBQ and toilets available. Toapin Weir has actually been built around a natural granite formation, for pioneering families around Dangin. In 1912, and innovative landowner, Jonah Park and engineer T. C. Hodgson built an 18 foot high 200 feet long concrete wall. As thick as 12.5 feet, the wall was all that was needed to capture 4 million gallons of rainwater. What is cool

Yes, you can find FREE CAMPS on the NSW South Coast!

Newtons Crossing FREE CAMP Bega Region, NSW Do not despair, you can still find free camps on the NSW South Coast … Made up of Illawarra and Kiama, Shellharbour, Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla and Bega Valley or Sapphire Coasts regions, we loved our New South Wales South Coast adventure. However, it can be difficult to find camping options that aren’t caravan parks or sometimes expensive National Park campgrounds. Pet friendly options may also be harder to find. This list has both! Expect swimming and fishing at most of these (make sure you have a permit) so pack your togs and your fishing

Koorawatha Showgrounds, NSW at Sunset You asked for it, you get it! Hotel Koorawatha Free Camp, NSW
Camping

I’ve left a part of me at Koorawatha, New South Wales

As soon as we walked in the pub after a big day on the road, we certainly felt welcomed. For a Sunday evening, Hotel Koorawatha was pumping! And to my surprise, people were playing cards! My kind of hotel. Every Sunday, they host a Euchre comp. Well, we ordered some dinner, chatted to locals, played our own card game and enjoyed the atmosphere. Heatley rated the snags (they were skinny beef sausages, cooked to the max – just how he does it himself), and I had the yummy beef schnitty special. Finishing our drinks in the beer garden, we checked
