Camping sites in the Gold Coast area

Camping and caravanning is one of the more rewarding ways to explore and experience a place. This is especially true in a country famous for the great outdoors.

There are plenty of campsites tucked away – but if you don’t know where they are you can easily miss them. People often assume that it won’t be difficult to find a place to stopover on a budget but soon discover it can be a lot more expensive than anticipated. Or worse, they can’t find somewhere to stop and continue driving when they are tired.

Coolum Beach Holiday Park, Coolum, Queensland

Coolum Beach Holiday Park, Coolum, Queensland

I visited Coolum last week and checked out the only Coolum caravan park – and it’s a beautiful one in a brilliant location. With at least 3 beach entrances, the surf and sand are right on your doorstep! There’s a park and playground on either side – outside the park. A bottle-o, supermarket, shops and eateries are over the road- plus the Coolum Surf Club next door. Bring your bike as you can cycle or walk both north and south on the coast path. Plus you can climb Mt Coolum. When we stayed, the kids loved having the shops so

Days out: Coolum Cliffs Boardwalk, Coolum Beach, Queensland

Check our Instagram page to see more of the Coolum Cliffs Boardwalk – what a beautiful beach to walk on. It was great to see Nippers out training and so many enjoying the location on the popular Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane. If you are staying at Coolum, try to walk up for sunset as well as a sunrise or earlier morning walk. On my morning stroll – I firstly walked north, then back south, up the boardwalk to Wilkinson Park on top of the headland and was rewarded with a whale splashing! There are tables, chairs, toilets and a

Coolum Love and eateries at Coolum Beach, Queensland

Coolum Love and Where to Eat in Coolum Beach, Queensland

Here’s a shout out to some scrumptious eateries at Coolum, Queensland. I was lucky to enjoy a girl’s getaway for a friend’s 50th. Needless to say, we weren’t cooking! So I can give you the rundown on where we ate in Coolum. My Place – thank you for your tapas, cocktails and friendly service. Everyone raved about the garlic prawn hotpot and the linguini marinara. I loved the koftas, garlicky edamame beans and garlic pizza. I tried the passion fruit and Coolum Love cocktails – they were delightful, too! Bombay Bliss brought on the curries and naan. Yum. Scarness Beachfront Tourist Park

Scarness Beachfront Tourist Park

What a beautiful location! Right on the beach, with beach access to these calm sandy beaches. Currently there are big renovations due to happen for this council run park – and you need to be self contained RV only. Toilets are available at the foreshore just south of the tourist park.  No dogs, but there is unlimited swimming, fishing and the boat ramp next door. There are picnic tables, too and a dump point. Budget priced – it is a wonderful location for anyone who loves the sea – sailing, waterskiing, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and canoeing. In fact, the Outrigger Club
