Here’s a new budget priced Station Stay – Melangata in Yalgoo, WA, the only privately owned Heritage Listed Homestead John Hawes designed building in Australia. Melangata Homestead has its own tiny chapel nestled within the walls of the main building.
They offer flushing toilets, showers, fresh drinking water, doggies welcome on lead, and the owner teaches camp oven cooking! There are also renovated rooms for dinner, bed and breakfast stays.
Kylie Bessen shared some beautiful images on our Facebook Group, “I Love Camping Australia Wide” from the campground, WA site 400 in CAMPS 11 or find it in the Camps Australia Wide App.
Kylie told the group: “The station tour is well worth doing! You’ll need a 4WD to do the tour, or you can jump in with the station owner.”
This remote location is off the Geraldton-Mt Magnet Rd, turn at Yalgoo for 68 km onto a gravel road.
