A big thanks to Katrina Cragg for sending in her review and photos a beautiful free camp she found in her CAMPS book –Â Annya Campground, Victoria.
“Hi Michelle, I have really enjoyed doing weekend trips away, exploring my own area, checking out free camps that I didn’t know existed, so thank you Michelle and Heatley, for all the work you and your team puts in to the books and the app! I love them! I receive your newsletters, which are awesome, thank you.“
Regards Katrina Cragg
This pretty spot is located in the south western corner of Victoria off the Portland Casterton Road, it’s easy access, with level ground and large shady sites. There is plenty of room for families and groups here and it welcomes all rigs including tents.
It is so quiet here, you’ll hear the sound of the abundance of birdlife, and you’ll spot roos and koalas and the occasional emu. There are lovely clean toilets, (but do bring your own toilet paper). There are bush tracks for walking, BBQ’s, picnic tables and firepits.
Locally, go four wheel driving, horse riding, enjoy picnics, walking and mountain biking. It can become busy, and also get boggy after a bit of rain, make sure to bring your own water as well.
Â
Though dogs are permitted on lead, do keep in mind the extensive wildlife that needs protecting here, and don’t let pets loose.
