Our four are rock scramblers and waterfall lovers from way back. For recent teen birthday, we discovered a little oasis only minutes from the Gold Coast, onto a waterfall and one of our favourite pubs.

This council owned caravan park, is now under new management – with Rochester Recreation Reserve Committee, and welcome new on-site managers, Bruce and Eileen Kilpatrick. Previously called Rochester Caravan & Camping Park, it also comes with a new name and please update your books with their new website, www.rochesterriverside.com.au and email: stay@rochesterriverside.com.au Bruce and Eileen are delighted with the positive comments they’ve received about the grounds and landscaping. They have plans for more cabins, a canoe ramp to the river, new camp kitchen plus a communal fire pit and rotunda. The site is pet friendly, suitable for large motorhomes

Importantly, visitors and locals alike continue to enjoy camping, and no camping sites have closed, or are flagged to close. There has been a review into the practical application of the policy in relation to council-owned camping facilities and the outcome will provide greater clarity and certainty for all stakeholders. Following consultation with councils, private operators, and RV users, it was found the previous policy needed clarification as well as simplification and that is exactly what has been achieved.
