Freedom camps near Penguin, Tasmania

Penguin is west of Ulverstone and Devonport, a gorgeous place to visit with two free and one donation campsite. All beachfront to the Bass Strait! Hall Point We met Neil and Jovie at Halls Point, Tasmania who said. “We find all our stays in the book! We can’t be happier with our travel with CAMPS.” What a great site they had – free and oceanfront. Penguins, too! I can’t believe you’ll see them at night here. It is a protected penguin colony, so definitely no pets allowed. Hall Point is not a large area, and it is close to the road and

Free Stopover: Alwyn Francis Bridge, Queensland

Just south of Kingaroy, we’d recommend a shady, quiet campground – and beside the Stuart River (we’ve heard there may not be much water in it at the moment though).  Alwyn Francis Bridge at Taabinga, has toilets, picnic tables, mobile phone coverage and is pet friendly. There is plenty of room for big rigs. Note the time limit of 20 hours. It is QLD site 683 in Camps 10 or find it on the Camps Australia Wide App.  We had a lovely stop here. There is plenty of room so you don’t feel surrounded. Kumbia is only 17km away as

Tasmanian camping is open for business

13 February 2019 by Peter Gutwein, Treasurer There is no better place that caters for the free and low cost camping market. Importantly, visitors and locals alike continue to enjoy camping, and no camping sites have closed, or are flagged to close. There has been a review into the practical application of the policy in relation to council-owned camping facilities and the outcome will provide greater clarity and certainty for all stakeholders. Following consultation with councils, private operators, and RV users, it was found the previous policy needed clarification as well as simplification and that is exactly what has been achieved.
