Yass NSW is so RV friendly! 2 RV parks, Showgrounds and caravan parks to camp at! Dump point and day parking easy access, too. We dropped into the waterside camps at Joe O’Connor Park. Loved the views of cows across the river from the boat ramp! This large site is pet friendly, FREE for self contained RVs – including big rigs and camper trailers. There is shade, picnic tables and you can walk to town. Plus there are loads of villages, wineries and scenic drives to discover near here. Have you visited the Yass Valley? Free Stopover: Alwyn Francis Bridge, Queensland

Just south of Kingaroy, we’d recommend a shady, quiet campground – and beside the Stuart River (we’ve heard there may not be much water in it at the moment though). Alwyn Francis Bridge at Taabinga, has toilets, picnic tables, mobile phone coverage and is pet friendly. There is plenty of room for big rigs. Note the time limit of 20 hours. Keep designated RV parking for RVs!

To our dismay, we found the RV parking area FULL of cars, one motor home, no caravans. RVs had found some longer areas beside the river. Meanwhile, there were plenty of spaces in the regular carpark, closest the centre.

Here’s a run down on the latest places to stay in the district… Williams River Holiday Park is scheduled to reopen for the Easter school holidays with approximately 58 sites being made available on the hilltop (20 sites) and adjacent to the river (37 sites).
