Have fun at Theebine Hotel, Queensland

Theebine Hotel owner, Jackson If you haven’t been to Theebine, then you should!  Update: We were back again, last weekend for the opening of the new deck at Theebine Hotel. What a night, and I slept like a baby in the van. Check out the photos on our socials! We visited last September, met the publican,  some CAMPS fans (thanks Jeanette and friends) and said hi to the local councillor, Cr Dolly Jensen and had a lovely relaxed lunch! Since then, the Mary River flooded and has caused dreadful damage to the area. So, I’d say, they need your support even

Barrow Creek Roadhouse, NT
Budget Campsite

Barrow Creek Roadhouse, NT reopens for camping!

After a low-key two and a half years, the Barrow Creek Hotel has been able to revitalise and offer meals and a place to stay to the weary traveller between Alice Springs and Tennant Creek. This welcoming roadhouse charges a small fee for unpowered pet-friendly sites at the side of the pub with use of amenities, and a bit extra for power. For a real Aussie outback experience, stop in at the roadhouse, enjoy a meal and support this long-time local business. The pub itself is almost 90 years old, with the owner, Les, operating it for the last 34

Uki Hotel
Camping Food

On the verandah at the Mt Warning Hotel, Uki, New South Wales

We thoroughly recommend this lovely pub with friendly staff at Uki.  Arriving late (we lost an hour crossing the border into NSW), fortunately the pub was still open for meals. I snagged a table on the verandah, and sipped our cold drinks whilst we waited for lunch to arrive.  My niece said it was, ‘the best chicken schnitzel I had in a long time’. Real chicken breast – and the gravy is included. Likewise, our son loved his pizza, the rest of us ate the yummy schnitzels as well. I had our choice of two sides – for example: spuds,

Valla Beach, NSW
Caravan Parks

Top towns: Valla Beach, New South Wales

We discovered a little gem, on a recent trip back from the snow: Valla Beach, NSW. Interestingly, we’re told it is half way between Sydney and Brisbane, just off the Pacific Highway.  Stay at Valla Beach Tourist Park The local caravan park is NSW site 550 in Caravan Parks 5 or find it on the Camps Australia Wide App. it was the perfect stop over.  We stopped at a quiet cabin on this trip. Although basic, it had all the essentials. There was plenty of space on the grounds, surrounded by bush, but it is further away from the shops
