More swimming and camping at Litchfield’s Central Valley, Northern Territory

We are so excited about the Litchfield National Park improvements. One of our favourite parks in Australia, we loved the waterfall hopping and Buley Rockpools.  Now we can explore brand new areas – with Central Valley campsites on track to open this dry season. Work on the highly-anticipated $17.5 million Turbo Charging Tourism project is progressing well, with 10 campsites in the northern section of the development now complete. The area will allow campers and visitors direct access to swim in and enjoy the spring-fed creeks. Stage 3 Local company, the Ostojic Group, is carrying out construction for Stage 3

Free and pet friendly: Cangai Bridge at Jackadgery, New South Wales

This FREE pet-friendly camp spot is 20 km west of Jackadery via Gwydir Hwy. Small vehicles only, narrow bridges – we call it Cangai Bridge in CAMPS 11 – NSW site 245. Or find it on the Camps Australia Wide App! Photographer Anne Meagher says this area is also known as Hanging Rock, Jackadgery. It is for self contained vehicles, and Anne said there were plenty of caravans on site, with a good gravel road in from the highway. They camp on the grassy slopes just after the wooden bridge, probably about 8 km in from Gwydir Hwy. Fishing allowed

Edeowie Station in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia

Edeowie Station – image by Ross Plant by Guest Blogger Ross Plant Our evening in Peterborough was spent at the rest area just east of town. There are no facilities here and after yesterdays and last nights rain, the whole area is one big mud puddle. Peterborough in its heyday was an important link for trains carrying iron ore from Broken Hill to Port Pirie with about one hundred trains passing through daily. Just over an hour later we stopped in Orroroo. The main street has to be one of the widest street’s you will ever drive down. Several years

If you check out our video promotions, you’ll see we are encouraging everyone to stay put and plan your next trip.  Note that we are following advice – we have cancelled two trips in April. Although it is tough, especially on the kids who love their camping, we are just following recommendations to STAY AT HOME. This virus is certainly turning our world topsy turvy, we are thinking of everyone who has lost their job,

Focus on farmers for your next holiday

Here at Camps Australia Wide, we applaud all the tourism initiatives happening across Australia at the moment, like: #HolidayHereThisYear #BookThemOut and #buyfromthebush and we’ll add in our two: #GOWEST and #staywithafarmer If you check out images of Kangaroo Island, you’ll see there is so much there untouched by fires to explore. I can certainly believe that international folk aren’t visiting the Margaret River in WA, for instance – when fires are thousands of kilometres away in other states. Unless you have travelled our country – it is hard to fathom how big it really is. Here’s one of the pics
