Tweed Heads - Captain Cook Memorial Lighthouse

Favourite Walks – NSW/QLD border

Captain Cook Memorial Lighthouse Walking past the Captain Cook Memorial Lighthouse forms part of my favourite trek on the Tweed…  I start near the Coolangatta Surf Club, and walk south around Greenmount. If tides are right you can walk on the beach. I normally stay on the path, I love how the path here is extra wide.  Walk past Greenmount Surf Club, there are a few viewing platforms on Greenmount – you can even walk right up to the top of it. Make sure you stop and watch the surfers. Views of Coolangatta Beach from Greenmount Follow the path or

Australia’s calling!

I’m very excited – we have been wanting to catch up with two other families on a camping get-together, beach-side in April. Today it is booked, and all we have to do is pack when the time comes! Plus we’re taking our family outback this year (hurrah!) AND next weekend is a family reunion. On a hot day, there’s a cool beer garden to relax in and the hotel is close to the centre of town, bowling club, swimming pool and tennis courts. Owners

Budget Campsite

On the opposite bank, a tinny was backed up to the edge, and plonked in the water. I thought the two fellows were off for a fish. But no, however, there was a plan. They rowed directly across the river, and they didn’t worry about the boat ramp. I spotted them moments later, happy at the bar. It would have it’s benefits, living ‘next door’ to a pub. Coopernook Hotel is not just any
