Taylors Crossing Victoria - free camp, no pets
Family Friendly Fun

Taylor’s Crossing: a cool free camp with suspension bridge and river crossing, Victoria

What kid doesn’t like a pedestrian suspension bridge? You know, the type that you can jump on and the bouncing freaks your brother/sister/mum out whilst they’re on it, too! We visited Taylor’s Crossing just last week or so. Make sure you access this little gem from the Benambra – Corryong Road. (Yes, you can get there from the Omeo Valley Highway, but trust me, unless you are a serious 4WD traveller, you WON’T want to do this. The jump ups were insane. That’s the female side of the team, not male talking!) This site has been inaccessible for a while,

We stayed the night here with a few other campers and no-one came to move us on. Just thought the

Feed the family from free camp, Red Cliff Beach, South Australia

Red Cliff Beach in SA, just 13 km south of Tumby Bay is pet friendly, with mobile coverage and a zero price and zero facilities. But you are rewarded with priceless views and abundant fishing! Fishing is best here at high tide off the points, and in the inlet. Said CAMPS Ambassador, Manda, “Daniel went fishing with a friend in his boat and they caught enough King George Whiting and squid to feed the family every lunch and dinner. Others were fishing off the rocks and spearfishing, both were also successful!” The southern end of Red Cliff is a beachfront camping area.

Changes to Murray River FREE camping near Yarrawonga, Victoria

Forges Beach – Victoria Vic Parks have recently made some big changes to the camping options along the Murray River, consolidating many state forest, wildlife reserves, conservation areas and town commons under the umbrella of the National Parks system. This has cleared up a lot of confusion about who controls what, where to book and where to find the info you need to plan your trip. With roughly 2000km of river frontage in Victoria, you can only imagine the scale of the task placed upon Parks to achieve this outcome and we thank them for their hard work. This process
