Red Cliff Beach Camp - Image by Overland Exposure

Feed the family from free camp, Red Cliff Beach, South Australia

Red Cliff Beach in SA, just 13 km south of Tumby Bay is pet friendly, with mobile coverage and a zero price and zero facilities. But you are rewarded with priceless views and abundant fishing! Fishing is best here at high tide off the points, and in the inlet. Said CAMPS Ambassador, Manda, “Daniel went fishing with a friend in his boat and they caught enough King George Whiting and squid to feed the family every lunch and dinner. Others were fishing off the rocks and spearfishing, both were also successful!” The southern end of Red Cliff is a beachfront camping area.

Swim, fish and camp at Engine Point, Lincoln National Park, South Australia

Our CAMPS Ambassadors Daniel and Manda recently visited Lincoln National Park in the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia. This means the CAMPS App has heaps of up to date info about the different camping options! They said the water was much warmer here – compared to other SA beaches. I wonder why? But with the beautiful hues, clear and shallow ocean, why wouldn’t you be content with Boston Bay right at your front door! It is Australia’s largest natural harbour.  It is 4WD only, no facilities, with limited sites – but note there isn’t a lot of shade, but often wind!

It is an awesome spot to snorkel and also watch the passing marine life which includes dolphins, whales, turtles and sharks. In one afternoon we spotted at least 40 whales breaching as they headed south. If you walk down onto the beach from the campsite and head to the right and up the beach, you will see heaps of baby sharks swimming in the
