Amazing beach views: Weipa Camping Ground, Queensland

Have you visited Weipa? Located on Albatross Bay on the western side of Cape York Peninsula – it is right on the Gulf of Carpentaria. Renowned for fishing, wilderness and beaches, this mining town is seriously remote: 800 km drive from Cairns, and 200 km from ‘The Tip’. CAMPS AUSTRALIA WIDE ambassadors, Overland Exposure, visited Weipa Camping Ground recently and said, “Amazing site with beach views! Some unpowered sites are large and have water views, others not so ask when booking. Kids’ playground, refreshing pool, restaurant to eat at with outdoor dining which was nice. Haslam SA - Under the jetty
Beaches & Coasts

Plan to visit Haslam, South Australia

We’d like to thank Kerrie Wall for sending us these beautiful images, and told us why she loved her stay in Haslam, SA. It was a short drive off the highway. It is a very, very quiet little spot with no shops or services at all, but it’s convenient to Ceduna or Streaky Bay. Population is about 60 most of whom are oyster farmers.  There is access to a public toilet and it has a dump point. Haslam relies on people’s honesty to leave the small site fee ($10) in the box. Like many coastal towns in SA it has a lovely jetty with
