There is a new caravan park in Newman, WA! Developed by the Shire of East Pilbara, the first stage has been completed and when the project has been finished, with over $3 million invested. The first stage saw powered and unpowered sites available for tents, caravans and recreational vehicles – and it is pet friendly. The Shire endorsed the name “Yurlu” which means ‘campground’ in Nyiyaparli. What a beautiful location! Right on the beach, with beach access to these calm sandy beaches. Currently there are big renovations due to happen for this council run park – and you need to be self contained RV only. Toilets are available at the foreshore just south of the tourist park. No dogs, but there is unlimited swimming, fishing and the boat ramp next door. There are picnic tables, too and a dump point. CMCA Humpty Doo RV Park – Northern Territory

It’s always great to add a new site to our listings, and this time it’s the new CMCA Humpty Doo RV Park in the Northern Territory. Located off the Arnhem Highway south-east of Darwin you’ll find it at the rear of the iconic Humpty Doo Hotel. There are large flat sites with direct access to the hotel and park guests are able to use the hotel swimming pool also. It is suitable for all sized RVs, with a dump point with potable water as well as onsite caretaker. The park has disabled access, is pet friendly and generators are permitted.

Between Gympie and the Cooloola Coast, is a little oasis called Standown Park, QLD site 212 in Camps 11, 256 in Caravan Parks 5 or find it on the Camps Australia Wide App. As we turned into their road, kangaroos were there to welcome us. The pet friendly caravan park has powered sites and budget unpowered out of the way sites as there are 18 acres beside forestry, set amongst gardens, wide open spaces and memorial walls.
