Port Hedland Racecourse Port Hedland is the gateway to the Pilbara and there’s lots to explore.  Set up camp at the Port Hedland RV Stop – previously known as Port Hedland Racecourse. This free short term self-contained vehicle parking area is provided by the Town of Port Hedland Council just north of the town oval. Whilst the dump point remains at the west end of McGregor Street, access to the RV Stop has changed in 2022 to the east end, by the skate park and is well-signposted.  This very busy site has a three day limit and is within walking
