Free Stopover: Alwyn Francis Bridge, Queensland

Just south of Kingaroy, we’d recommend a shady, quiet campground – and beside the Stuart River (we’ve heard there may not be much water in it at the moment though). Alwyn Francis Bridge at Taabinga, has toilets, picnic tables, mobile phone coverage and is pet friendly. There is plenty of room for big rigs. Note the time limit of 20 hours. Pies, festivals and a new camp ground

Concerts are not something I have done a lot of over the years. Probably due to dragging four kids along to events like this is not always easy. Well, it was a lifelong aim to see Jimmy Barnes live. On the Mother’s Day weekend we took our two eldest and girlfriend, with some great mates to the Festival by the C in Hervey Bay. Mental as Anything, Baby Animals, Killing Heidi and Mark Seymour too. In WA … off the Albany highway, between Cranbrook and Mt Barker, is Kendenup, at the sporting grounds.There is power and unpowered sites, very good toilets and showers. Near new. Water there, dogs welcome. Bins. About 3 km out of Kendenup itself, where there a store/post office/minimum selections of wines and beers/ice. Cost $10 for unpowered site and $15 per night.
