Australia’s northernmost point: Cape York, Queensland

Overland Exposure at Cape York, Queensland Have you visited “The Tip”? At Cape York Peninsula, Queensland – a 4WD mecca. Here’s a photo from @overland exposure of their moment at the northernmost part of our Australian mainland! They stayed at nearby Punsand Bay 5 km west of this very spot – where you can watch the sun rise out of the Coral Sea in the Pacific Ocean and set over the Arafura Sea in the Indian Ocean. Another camp area they really rated was Mutee Beach.  Find where to stay in the Camps 11 book, Camps Australia Wide App and

Bucket List: Queensland’s Natural Sciences Loop

Eulo, home of Diprotodon Just back from our winter travels, our plan was to spend most of our time in NSW. Covid has shelved that for a while, instead we drove further west and took on Queenland’s Natural Sciences Loop!  I like my hot baths – what a delight to stop into Charlotte Plains Station (906) 46 km east of Cunnamulla, and have a soak in their soothing artesian waters. I enjoyed a nag with plenty of travellers, including the owner’s family. School holidays meant camping was very popular, but you have a huge area to spread out. The waters

Have you been to Kalbarri, Western Australia?

Kalbarri Skywalk – image credit BOCOL Constructions, Dermot Boyle Have you been to Kalbarri, Western Australia? From the National Parks website: “This virtual fly-through video offers spectacular views of the $24 million Kalbarri Skywalk and National Park Tourist Infrastructure project. The two 100-metre-high cantilevered skywalks extend out 25 metres and 17 metres beyond the cliff face, offering soaring views of the gorges and surrounds.” The Kalbarri Skywalk is complete but unfortunately not open to the public yet – it was earmarked to be opened in mid-April, but the coronavirus unfortunately put a hold to that. Local authorities are hoping it will

Camping is back on the agenda!

Hi everyone, we hope you Mums were spoiled terribly. It’s an exciting week for those of us that have been housebound, with changes daily in restrictions depending where you live. Campers in some states are out there living the dream already, within limitations of the COVID-19 regulations.  RV travellers will be pleased with the three-step roadmap – as local and regional travel is planned initially, opening up to eventual interstate travel.  As I write, from May 15 in Queensland we can look forward to dining out, further travel to 150km and in Outback Queensland up to 500km. Then from June 12,

A must do: The Granite Skywalk, Castle Rock, Western Australia

This #graniteskywalk at Castle Rock near Albany Western Australia is a Definite MUST DO. This is absolutely the best image I have seen of this adventure. It really is as cool as it looks!  Hands down, this was one of my (and the family’s) favourite walks in Australia. Granite Sky Walk, WA – Image Overland Exposure Challenging? Yes. Terrifying to look down? Well, a bit… Worth it? definitely! Overall you are looking at a 4.4 km return walk. National Parks say it is Class 5 and requires moderate to good fitness. Walk through yate, marri and karri forest, past the

Tick the Bucket List: The Horizontal Falls, Western Australia

We had a group of 10 vehicles in our trip across the Kimberley – some did the overnight trip while others joined us on the 24 hour trip. It’s a trip you have to do once or
