Just a short walk over the dune you can stay at Eighty Mile Beach Caravan Park with grassy, powered and drive-through sites, toilets, showers (accessible amenities, too), fresh water, BBQ, camp kitchen, shop, shade and dump point. No pets. Enjoy four-wheel driving, swimming, walking, birdwatching and did we mention the sunsets? The best time to visit is June to August. We discovered a little gem, on a recent trip back from the snow: Valla Beach, NSW. Interestingly, we’re told it is half way between Sydney and Brisbane, just off the Pacific Highway.  Stay at Valla Beach Tourist Park The local caravan park is NSW site 550 in Caravan Parks 5 or find it on the Camps Australia Wide App. it was the perfect stop over.  We stopped at a quiet cabin on this trip. Although basic, it had all the essentials. There was plenty of space on the grounds, surrounded by bush, but it is further away from the shops

Caravan Park has a new name

Coconut Grove Caravan Park, Hervey Bay, QLD Site 382 in Parks 5, is now called The Bay Caravan Park. The new owners, Ellen and Mick, are excited for the new chapter in the park’s story, and have plans for renovations in the coming future.

Boat Harbour Beach – now day use only

UPDATE January 2020: This areas is now DAY USE ONLY. But it is a beautiful spot – so take a picnic!  PREVIOUS ARTICLE: Waratah Wynyard Council advised CAMPS last year that Boat Harbour Beach, had never been an official camp site.
