Artesian spas, thermal pools, mineral waters, bore baths … I just love to swim or dunk in hot springs around Australia! Just as their names differ, so does the experience at each!
On our last trip to the Kimberley and back, we really did not expect to swim at so many! Here’s a round up of the best of them…

Yep! Loved this too. Yowah, QLD has two pools – quirky change rooms and shower. All for a song. Loved that we had it to ourselves! Caravan park and freedom camp in town …
Oh yeah! The best thing about Great Artesian Spa at Mitchell was shoulder massage form the pipe. Aqua aerobics, plus near a budget camp! Find it and nearby camps in the App.
I now know why Lara Wetlands, QLD is so popular. It is not just the free damper/scones and live music, the free canoe and bike hire, the waterfront sites, but the super hot relaxing spa!
It is tiny, but well worth the tiny day fee. This pet friendly campground also has a shop with yummy fresh dates, date scones and date icecream. Thumbs up!
Two pools here too but this one has jets! I am seriously coming back. Some rate Blackall Aquatic Centre as the best artesian spa in QLD, and it is only $2!
If you like Bitter Springs, with its natural surrounds, try Running Waters Waterhole in the WA PIlbara. 4WD only, we suggest you walk from the free campground…
And one more for the road is Cunnamulla Hot Springs! Controversial because of the entry fees, I still loved this new QLD option! The views, the different pool choices, sunset and the birdlife!
