Check out these Bucket List camps at Australia’s extremities

Oberon Bay Wilsons Promontory by Joy O’Neill There’s so much to share with you this week! Most of you may have visited Australia’s most easterly point is Cape Byron in NSW, but have you experienced our mainland’s most northerly, southerly and westerly points – including Punsand Bay and Cape York, Wilsons Prom and Steep Point? And have you trekked to Tassie’s most southerly location? You can read about all of them and where to camp nearby below. We won third place in the Melbourne Cup – a grand total of $4 profit. (Pretty good when you only buy some sweeps and

Toilets are available at the foreshore just south of the tourist park.  No dogs, but there is unlimited swimming, fishing and the boat ramp next door. There are picnic tables, too and a dump point. Gootchie QLD
Camping

Happy Easter Camping!

Every day is an adventure with CAMPS – even a soccer trip to Hervey Bay, QLD gave Heatley and I an opportunity to explore some sites around Gootchie (pictured), Bauple and Tiaro, just off the Bruce Highway. This week I’ve been lucky enough to visit my mum in Coolangatta. Although the office is here with me too – it was so good to wake up to a blue sky and I’ve been posting some of my walks and sites on our Facebook page. Including the muddy floodwaters of the Tweed reaching the Pacific Ocean – it was fascinating to see,

Pies, festivals and a new camp ground

Concerts are not something I have done a lot of over the years. Probably due to dragging four kids along to events like this is not always easy.  Well, it was a lifelong aim to see Jimmy Barnes live. On the Mother’s Day weekend we took our two eldest and girlfriend, with some great mates to the Festival by the C in Hervey Bay.  Mental as Anything, Baby Animals, Killing Heidi and Mark Seymour too. So many favourites: Hunters and Collectors “Throw your arms around me”, Mental’s “Live it Up” but best of all – “Khe Sahn” followed by Jimmy’s

Here's some travellers from Hervey Bay - we caught up at Kybong, south of Gympie - at site 235
Camping

Travel to Wuruma, Nambucca and Gympie!

I hope you are on the road right now, having fun! We attended a consultation for the draft RV strategy for our region, and followed it up with a country drive into the Mary Valley – checking on sites. Our feedback to council was to provide a greater number of RV camps across the region – they don’t need to include facilities plus! Rather than having huge dollars spent on one location – like plans for the Valley Rattler Terminal RV stop, we encouraged them to set up and publicise smaller sites, region wide. The coast was not included in
