As the new managers of the Dumbara Burru Caravan Park (formerly West Kimberley Lodge & Caravan Park), the Winun Ngari Aboriginal Corporation invites you to enjoy this little slice of paradise set amongst tropical gardens.
Kick back and relax in its child free, tranquil surroundings or get involved in the community art space. Dumbara features 20 shady powered sites, 16 unpowered sites and is pet friendly for smaller dogs. It is open seasonally from May – November.
The site has a full suite of facilities including toilets and showers with disabled access, drinking water, dump point, laundry as well as a camp kitchen. There is a boat ramp about 5 km away with great fishing available!
Explore the Boab Prison Tree, a 1500-year-old Adansonia Gregorii tree used in the 1890s as a lockup for Indigenous Australian prisoners. Use the site as base to travel further afield and explore the breathtaking wonder of the Horizontal Falls, one of the world’s largest tidal flow pushing through tight parallel coastal gorges. You can explore the mighty Fitzroy River and share dreaming and creation stories that bring the landscape to life and connect with nature and the environment.
