Gum Tree Lodge and Bush Camp has been designed for the over 50’s traveller. If that fits you, then it might be the perfect spot for your next getaway.
They have 40 powered sites and plenty of unpowered sites spanning 40 acres. Located just off the highway north of Maryborough, it’s around 20 minutes to Hervey Bay, Childers and Burrum Heads.
It’s a peaceful getaway for self-contained caravan or motorhomes. It is pet friendly, has a dump point, fire pits (with wood provided), there’s walking tracks through the bush. Check out the deck sites overlooking the dam!
You can enjoy a tour of George’s Garage, the Howard Markets are on the first Saturday of each month, as well as plenty of local shops. This includes a yummy bakery just 3km across the highway in Howard.
An unpowered site will cost you $10 per person per night and a powered site $30 per couple. Local regulations don’t allow for vehicles without their own facilities, unfortunately, such as tents and camper trailers, but they do have a beautiful guest suite available.
They also offer year-round deals with Stay 4 Pay 3 and Stay 7 Pay 5, with reduced rates applying to singles on powered sites.
