Molong Bowling Club now open for free camping in New South Wales!

Molong Bowling Club in New South Wales is now open for self contained vehicles – just find a spot under the trees. It is FREE camping with no time limit! The club will be looking at a donation box soon.

This private, flat grassed area behind the bowling club, is pet friendly and central to town. Volunteers run the club which opens in the late afternoons most days, with meals available one day of the week (check with club).

The organisers said, “Thanks for including us, we love having caravanners, great for us and our small community.” Also note the latest phone number is in the CAMPS AUSTRALIA WIDE App.

There are two other sites in town, also pet friendly:

Molong Showground is available for all vehicles for a small fee, and $5 more for power. It is about 3 km from the ‘bowlo’.

It offers large open flat grassed spaces, quiet and tranquil which overlooks the golf course and shares its entry. Caretaker calls in the afternoon. Those travelling with livestock are welcome.

Showground hosts the Molong Annual Show which showcases interesting displays and events for families to enjoy, as well as savouring home grown produce, home-made arts and crafts

Molong Caravan Park is another well priced place to camp. As well as facilities, it has accommodation, a dump point and disability friendly amenities.

What to see and do whilst you are here?

Molong is a historic village near the Macquarie Ranges and the Orange wine regions. It has a heritage listed main street, restored  Cobb & Co Coachhouse and village markets. Visit Yuranigh’s Aboriginal Grave Site southeast of town, the only known site in Australia where Aboriginal and European burial practices co-exist.

A bakery, supermarket and all usual shops are available. A must-see attraction are the Animals on Bikes sculptures from Molong to Cummock and Yeoval with over 100 sculptures on display along an 120 km trail.

Borenore Caves is found via the Arch Loop Track in the Borenore Karst Conservation Area. See the stalactites, stalagmites, columns and flowstones inside the limestone chamber. Borenore picnic area is a good spot for lunch.
