Jundah Hotel Caravan Park Queensland is now free!

by Jed Elmer

We are all feeling the pinch financially at the moment, with many campsites and caravan parks increasing their fees year on year, and free sites sometimes feeling a bit ‘bare bones’. It’s a rare pleasure to hear about a council bucking the trend and making a formerly paid site – now free for all patrons.

Jundah Hotel Caravan Park is located between Longreach and Windorah on the upper reaches of Cooper Creek, just south of Stonehenge and west of the Welford National Park. The site features basic but clean amenities, is suitable for all vehicle types, including rig rigs and is only a short distance from good fishing spots and right next door to the community swimming pool complex.

The Hotel that adjoins the Caravan Park serves delicious, hot, counter meals and even more delicious, ice cold beers! Best news of all, the camping is now free for all patrons! Well maybe the cold beer is the best news but the free camping is a close second!

With Queensland’s travel restrictions easing, just in time for school holidays which start June 27, many from the Sunshine State are ready to fly the coop and get back to travelling and camping!

With the Mexicans down in NSW and Victoria allowed interstate travel from June 1, as we write, Queensland politicians are still undecided on opening up state borders.

Although we can’t travel to see family and friends interstate just yet, we can still enjoy the sights, sounds, smells and flavours of everything our vast state has to offer… and there’s a lot on offer!

Many of our tourist hot spots are suffering greatly, especially in the outback-regional areas. If you were considering a holiday, with, or perhaps a holiday away from your quarantine buddies, consider spending some time and money in some of our exceptional outback communities! The beer is cold, the people friendly and the stories, amazing!

For your next trip out west, pop in to see Loraine and the friendly staff at Jundah Hotel. Just search for Jundah Hotel Caravan Park in the Camps Australia Wide App, or look for site 507 in the Queensland section of the Camps 10 guide.

As this is not a pet friendly site, if you have a furry companion – try Thomson River West, when you stay in Jundah, QLD site 508 in Camps 10, both are on the Camps Australia Wide App.
