If you have a motorhome or caravan, an alternative cut-priced camping option are RV park camp sites in Australia. 

Most only allow self-contained vehicles, as toilet facilities and power are generally not available. They tend not to allow tents or camper trailers. Surfaces vary, but many are bitumen or concrete.

CMCA Humpty Doo RV Park – Northern Territory

It’s always great to add a new site to our listings, and this time it’s the new CMCA Humpty Doo RV Park in the Northern Territory. Located off the Arnhem Highway south-east of Darwin you’ll find it at the rear of the iconic Humpty Doo Hotel. There are large flat sites with direct access to the hotel and park guests are able to use the hotel swimming pool also. It is suitable for all sized RVs, with a dump point with potable water as well as onsite caretaker. The park has disabled access, is pet friendly and generators are permitted.

New RV Park Devonport Country Club, TAS

New RV Park in Devonport, Tasmania

There’s a brand new RV Park in Devonport,  a hop skip and jump from the Spirit of Tasmania.  If you’re looking for more options to stay after a nightime arrival, this is good news.  If  booked in for a morning departure, at less than a 10 minute drive, this is just the ticket. The Devonport Country Club have opened up part of the property to self contained RV’s. It offers pet friendly stays and roomy grass sites. Additionally, generators are permitted from 8am to 6pm and there are toilets available. For a small fee you can use the hot showers.

Free camp: Pinjarra RV Parking Area, WA

Have you visited Pinjarra, near Mandurah, only an hour south of Perth? And did you know Australia had another Murray River? Pinjarra RV Parking Area in Western Australia is a free camp and within walking distance of the town centre. You’ll find picnic tables, shade and the dump point is about 100 metres away. Additionally, it is pet friendly and there is room for Big Rigs.  There is space for 15 recreational vehicles, with a maximum stay of 24 hours only. Burekup & Dardanup – 2 new free camps in WA

CMCA Port Pirie RV Park

New RV park in Port Pirie, South Australia

The CMCA have opened their second park in South Australia, this one at Port Pirie.  It’s located within the grounds of the Port Football and Community Club on the corner of Wandearah and Esmond Roads. You’ll have access to their facilities during opening hours and the club are offering discounts to members. Lunches and dinners are available most days. The park is a five minute stroll to shopping and businesses and provides a dump point, potable water, happy hour shelter, and park custodian.
