Linking Laverton to Winton via Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Alice Springs you will drive through remote desert, learning about Aboriginal culture and outback life. The shelter at Yarla Kutjarra has an interesting story and paintings, created by locals.
Make sure you organise your Abororiginal entry permits. This road is seasonal and more suitable to 4WD vehicles, camper trailers and off road caravans. HIgh clearance 4WD is recommended – conditions may include sand drifts and corrugations. Regularly graded, it is normally suitable for off road caravan and trailers.
