We are checking on sites all over Oz at the moment for the next Caravan Parks book out later this year. Calling WA, I have been revisiting our big lap – and was pleased to hear that nothing much has changed at Taunton Farm.

This Holiday Park has a huge camp kitchen – more like a barn. They don’t welcome pets, but they have their own animals, and the daily feed times were very popular with our crew.

I could watch the kids flipping on the huge jumping pillow from our van. Kid heaven!

Centrally located in the Margaret River region, it was so good we stayed an extra night. In those couple of days the kids and adults had plenty of variety:

  • walks at Cape Naturaliste
  • rock hopping on the coast
  • chocolate factory
  • cheese tasting
  • silkworms
  • Ngilgi cave tour (excellent – even had a slippery dip and was 11 storeys down!)
  • wineries
  • brewery
  • sheep shearing and sheep dog demonstrations
  • Cowaramup cow rally – We all had fun, and they still do it every July.

The farm is located at 8113 Bussell Highway, Cowaramup and it is currently no. 85 in WA in Caravan Parks 4. There’s drive through sites, powered sites, ensuite cabins, disabled facilities, dump point and wifi (limited). Also suitable for big rigs.
