You haven’t truly seen the Riverland until you pay a visit to Caudo Vineyard and Cellar Door. This family owned and operated business is just a short drive from Waikerie or Morgan in the beautiful Cadell Valley and nestled on the banks of the historic Murray River.

Free camping is available only 500 metres upstream: the famous Hogwash Bend Conservation Park (SA site 163 in Camps 11). This popular council run camping area at a sand bar is suitable for caravans, motorhomes, tents and camper trailers and your pets. It is also home to one of the largest colonies of endangered Regent Parrots.

There’s mobile coverage, fire pits, swimming, fishing, shade and a boat access. The campsite may become inaccessible in wet weather. Please BYO firewood and don’t chop down any trees at this reserve, dead or alive.

Both of these magnificent locations are accessed by boat or road along Hogwash Bend Road, Cadell.  You can also find Hogwash Bend in the Camps Australia Wide App.

In fact, they are the only cellar door in Australia which has access via a boat. Sample refreshing whites and full-bodied Mediterranean reds, local craft beer and craft cider with a tasting platter, woodfire pizza or a ‘cook your own’ tabletop barbecue. However it is their Sangria, which they say is the ideal drink for relaxing by the river.

Caudo Vineyard is open Tuesday to Sunday 10.30 to 4.30pm. Book by calling  0418 715 661 or visit: https://caudovineyard.com.au
