This #graniteskywalk at Castle Rock near Albany Western Australia is a Definite MUST DO. This is absolutely the best image I have seen of this adventure. It really is as cool as it looks! Hands down, this was one of my (and the family’s) favourite walks in Australia. Granite Sky Walk, WA – Image Overland Exposure Challenging? Yes. Terrifying to look down? Well, a bit… Worth it? definitely! Overall you are looking at a 4.4 km return walk. National Parks say it is Class 5 and requires moderate to good fitness. Walk through yate, marri and karri forest, past the
Cable Beach – Image by Overland Exposure Broome is remote! It is almost 2000 km to drive from Darwin, and over 2000km to Perth. When we initially planned our trip we just couldn’t fit it in. At Home Valley Station, which we had planned as our turnaround spot, we decided to extend our trip. I was so pleased, partly because I would finally see Broome! Here’s what our family loved. 1. Pearl Luggers Seriously don’t miss the Pearl Luggers, it was awesome! We all learnt so much about the industry, the history and early Broome. We tasted pearl meat and
Eagle Bluff Shark Bay World Heritage Area is situated on the Western Australian Coast, it is actually two bays – and it is area you do not want to miss. Situated north of Kalbarri, and south of Carnarvon on the beautiful WA coastline, all of these favourites are accessible with a conventional vehicle: Wild dolphins at Monkey Mia Monkey Mia, probably what we knew the area best for, before our visit. We wanted to check it out and compare it to our very own Tin Can Bay – also known for feeding wild dolphins. It is best to arrive early and
Fraser Island K’gari In light of the royals Harry and Meghan’s visit to Fraser Island, we thought it was high time to add more campsites to the App and CAMPS 10. In addition to Cathedrals on Fraser listed in Caravan Parks 4, we now have four more campgrounds and six dump points listed! First thing to note – K’gari Fraser Island travel is only suited to high clearance, off road 4WDs only – there are soft sandy and rough tracks. Vehicle permits are required. Prebook trailer sites – they are limited, and if in holiday time, well ahead, Fraser can
Secret Santa is sorted! Thankfully, our family organised ourselves in time (our crew, Grandma, Auntie Bec and any partners – if here for Chrissy) – and Secret Santa is sorted. Our eldest found a cool Secret Santa Generator which not only tells you WHO you have this year, it stays in the system for when you forget. Haha! Plus, each person can make the job easier for their Secret Santa by adding potential gifts to a wishlist. And what did Heatley just find? A CAMPS guide! The website directs people straight to our shop! Thank you, ‘draw names’! We thought
We loved our time at Darwin Waterfront – the newest precinct on the ocean in Northern Territory’s capital. And believe me, you’ll want to get wet in this Top End climate.
