For the last three weeks we’ve travelled the NSW coast, into Gippsland, Victoria and are now in the High Country. In fact, half of last year been been on the road, and in 2024 we’ll clock up even more kilometres and months exploring. (‘Work and play’ says Heatley – auditing campsites but also experiencing everything our beautiful country offers and sharing it with our community of travellers.) The first time my kids EVER heard me swear was at Elephant Cove, William Bay National Park, in southern WA. This is a beautiful destination. Insta worthy. Jaw dropping and aptly named. Huge monolithic rocks dominate the view as you reach the beach. I treasure all four of our bambinos. It’s the typical arrangement in our family – mum says “be careful” and Dad encourages them to be adventurous. On the end of our Big Lap, on limited time, we traversed The Nullarbor in two days. Kids were due back at school, we had businesses to run but were so keen to experience this famed road trip. We left Esperance and the beauty of Cape Le Grand National Park, through Grass Patch and the heart of Mallee Country. The Nullarbor Plain begins in Norseman, Western Australia – we saw camels here, which was pretty cool. “The Nullarbor” is an 1100km route. Take our final journey of our Aussie Big Lap! This section starts us from Augusta WA, where you watch two oceans meet from the top of Australia’s tallest lighthouse! The tour was excellent – you can see we’re almost blasted off with the wind! And we think you’ll be blown away by all our tips along Australia’s south – for shorter breaks or your own lap.
