A big thanks to Katrina Cragg for sending in her review and photos a beautiful free camp she found in her CAMPS book – Annya Campground, Victoria. “Hi Michelle, I have really enjoyed doing weekend trips away, exploring my own area, checking out free camps that I didn’t know existed, so thank you Michelle and Heatley, for all the work you and your team puts in to the books and the app! I love them! I receive your newsletters, which are awesome, thank you.” Regards Katrina Cragg Katrina Cragg at Annya Campground, Victoria This pretty spot is located in the south
The new look is awesome – you have made it so easy
Just want to let you know that I absolutely love the new look to the app.
Apps can be incredibly handy as you travel Francois Peron National Park, WA by Overland Exposure A customer from the UK asked us what apps people travel with in Australia. Here’s our and our CAMPS Ambassadors’ recommendations… 1. Camps Australia Wide Not only does it have free and budget campsites, caravan parks, dump points and tourist information centres – fuel prices are updated every 20 minutes and you can see where to top up or replace gas bottles. Opt to display petrol stations as you travel (or not) also. You can create trips and record favourite sites. It links you
Clifton Showgrounds, Queensland Camps Australia Wide were probably the first ones to list showground camps! We love them, too! They are generally cheap, pet friendly and spacious BUT they have facilities. They’re a great place to start if you want to try different types of camping, because you still have the comforts of toilets, showers etc AND they are generally fenced, with a caretaker, or close to- if not in – town. Please check your filters when you search for them. Delete the other filters, and choose the showground symbol (see screenshot below). Or look for the yellow symbol on

Come on board, join the community – let’s make this the Camps Australia Wide App the Number 1 camping app in Australia. In case you aren’t on Facebook, here’s what Heatley said on his Facebook Live video: I just wanted to touch base
It has come in handy – we’ve booked holidays in Coffs Harbour, Sunshine Coast and Surfers. It’s good because of the symbols – like a playground for the kids, also petrol stations and shopping centres. It’s really good for me, I find it easy and I don’t know how to use maps! The kids are 6 and 10, they look at the pictures and are learning from the symbols and know if it has a playground or toilet. We save caravan parks in favourites and eliminate them until we find the site we like. You can tell if they have toilets,
Yes – the new App is now available for download! You will notice that there are more than campsites and caravan parks – now you can see pub and club stays, showgrounds and community halls, national parks, state forests and conservation areas, farm and station stays, free and donations overnight stops and paid overnight stops. The new App gives people many more options for searching and filtering – when you see it, I am sure you’ll agree. For instance, you can look for all pub stays that are free. Having sites categorised is totally new to the market. Please note: if you want to
It’s not long now! 150 RV travellers from around Australia are testing the BRAND NEW Version 4 of the Camps Australia Wide App. We have had excellent feedback to date. People are loving how simple it is to use and the new campsite icons. In addition to the symbols you know in the App and Camps 10, we have added more for swimming nearby (like creeks, rivers, beach etc), fishing nearby, donation site, pets seasonal, 4WD only, generators allowed, laundry, glamping, gas bottle swap or top up and games/TV rooms. Plus, check out our site type list (filters) and this map
