A good percentage of camping and caravanning travellers stop at Caravan Parks in Australia. There are thousands to choose from, and you do not need to be self-sufficient. This means they are suitable for all types of camping, from swags, rooftop tents, tents, camper trailers, campers, motorhomes and caravans.
Few have room for Big Rigs, however caravan parks also offer cabins or glamping. Many caravan parks are located in idyllic spots – close to town or beachside.
Many campers start their adventures in caravan parks as you have familiar comforts and facilities from home. Families can seek out extra attractions like water parks, jumping pillows and playgrounds – which means you can enjoy a get together and not even leave the park!
Just use the symbols or the filters to find them in our comprehensive guide books and Camps Australia Wide App!

Timber Creek, Northern Territory After experiencing bucket list standouts, we are shifting the spotlight onto some underrated Aussie greats. Like Timber Creek in the Northern Territory. Awesome lookouts and the Travellers Rest is a terrific caravan park behind the pub, with free croc feeding sessions! Girgarre in Victoria With a tiny population, Girgarre punches way above it’s weight! A freedom camp, sound trail, events and botanic gardens. We loved our stay! A WA truck stop Kumarina Roadhouse was a welcome overnighter for us – with bar, sunset from the verandah, budget camping and a mixed grill! Little known NSW gem
This roadhouse is very deceptive. It doesn’t look like much from the road. I think when we arrived, Heatley queried is this it? There were a few vans, cars and trucks parked out front. However, as soon as I opened the door I was warmly greeted. Camping was $20 a night and the combined shower/toilet cubicles were clean and adequate. Not that we got to that for a while – we sat out under the verandah and watched the colours change in the sky as the road trains, some carrying huge buildings arrived and left. We interrupted our game of
