Free with National Parks Pass. Low key camping among coastal scrub. Road in can be corrugated, and potholed after rain. Beach in is not patrolled so swimming is not recommended. Sticking out into the sea on Tasmania's mild east coast is the rugged and beautiful Freycinet Peninsula.Freycinet National Park consists of knuckles of granite mountains all but surrounded by azure bays and white sand beaches.Freycinet is a great place to go bird watching. You may be lucky enough to see a white-bellied sea-eagle gliding overhead or large Australasian gannet diving for food in the ocean.At Friendly Beaches, basic camping is available at Isaacs Point on a first-in, first-served basis, 2 week limit. Campsites tucked between th e coastal scrub, with a range of sites suitable for tents, campervans and caravans. Isaacs Point has pit toilets but no fresh water. Freycinet is a Fuel Stove Only Area as it is very dry and vulnerable to fire. No fires are allowed in the national park. Gas and fuel stoves may be used except on days of Total Fire Ban, when no naked flames of any sort, including gas and fuel stoves, are allowed in the open.
