Beaufort offers a free camp for self-contained vehicles, midway between Ararat and Ballarat. A dump point is located along Lawrence Street, with potable water conveniently located across the road at Wotherspoon Park. Beaufort is a pleasant community serving local produce and homemade treats from various cafes and eateries. Visitors will also find craft and antique shops to browse and purchase some unique gifts. An interesting find in Neill St, is the Cyril Callister Museum, about the man who invented Vegemite. The museum, which is a converted servo, displays memorabiliaand artwork, as well as tours and a shop of the largely unknown inventor of the iconic Aussie pantry staple.
