Manager of Bungle Bungle Caravan Park, Lorraine Lee told CAMPS that, “We have a lot of people come and stay and take a tour with us. We fly our own helicopters and have 4WD bus tours, so people leave their vans here.”
Lorraine says it is a secure place to keep your vehicle – plus you can utilise their storage facility if you want to stay a few days at the Bungles.
The Bungle Bungle Range, in Purnululu National Park, is one of the most striking geological landmarks in Western Australia. The prime scenic attraction is the extraordinary banded, beehive-shaped cone towers – very imposing from above, but if you venture inside the park, there are a variety of walks and gorges to discover. Recognised as a Word Heritage Listed Area, it has exceptional natural beauty.
Although it is only 52km to the visitor centre and ranger station, it takes two hours – and is 4wd only. But a normal 2WD can get to the caravan park easily, as they are only 1km from the highway. Bungle Bungle Caravan Park was established in 2010 on Mabel Downs Station and they also offer 4WD station tours.
“Dogs are allowed on a lead, there’s a campfire every night and a BBQ/dishwashing area,” said Lorraine. “We also have meals available – mainly dinner. After a long day at the National Park, guest love to come home to a two course meal. It’s perfect.”
