Buggler is part of our App. It is a simple way for people to get technical support and have their questions answered – just by shaking the phone. It’s all ok and totally safe.
Purchasing a Camps 12 guidebook does not automatically activate the 1 year free access period. Some users may not want to use the Camps app straight away or may already have an existing Camps App subscription with Apple/Google. Automatically activating the free trial could cause conflicts between these accounts and incur charges the user was not aware of.
For this reason all customers who purchase a Camps 11 guidebook must opt in to activate their 1 years free trail subscription via the account portal. Please refer to the FAQ below in the Subscription FAQs section titled How do I activate my free years subscription from my Camps 11 book purchase? for a detailed explanation of this process.
To reset your password, follow one of the processes below.
Please note, all Passwords must contain at least 8 Characters total, this must include a Capital letter, a number and a non alphabet Character, for example !@#$% etc.
From within the app whilst already logged in
If you have forgotten your password at the Login screen
The password reset link has a time limit on it for security reasons, if your link is listed as invalid when clicked, please tap the Request a new link button to resend.
If you don’t receive the password reset email within 10 minutes, please check your Spam or Junk folders as sometimes these emails may get caught in your spam filter.
If, after checking your junk/spam, you still have not received an email, please contact Camps Australia Wide direct via email at – support@campsaustraliawide.com or by phone on 07 5486 2542
Lastly, you can reset your password by accessing the Camps App Account Portal, linked here
https://portal.campsaustraliawide.com/auth
On the sign in landing page, below the Password field, you will see the option Forgot Password. Tap this and you will be prompted to enter the email address of your account. Please tap Send to complete the request.

You can definitely stay logged in so the App is ready to use each time you need it.
However, if the App is asking you to log-in each time you return to the app, this can be caused by two issues;
You are actually logging out of the Camps App after each use, which then requires you to log back in on the next use of the app. Only log out of the Camps app completely from the in app menus if you are planning to log into a different account, otherwise just use your device’s native controls to close the app. Refer to the links below if you do not know how to do this.
https://support.google.com/android/answer/9079646?hl=en
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201330
Alternatively, if your valid payment method set with the app store has lapsed since you installed the Camps App, the device will “forget” the subscription each time you use it as Apple/Google has locked your account’s subscriptions until you update your payment method with them. Refer to the links below on how to fix this issue.

This most likely means the email address you are using to access the app has not been registered with us yet. But there are a few other situations to consider first.
You may have previously registered under another email address and need to ensure you are trying to access the Camps App from the correct account. If you are not sure if you have an account registered, please contact support@campsaustraliawide.com and we can check to see if you have previously registered an account with us.
You have previously registered an account with us using a specific email address but you are now trying to log into the account using the Apple/Google/Facebook connect feature. Although the underlying email address may be the same as your Apple/Google/Facebook account, these are treated as separate accounts by our system as the password credentials are set with those accounts.
The opposite situation can also apply, you may have registered an account using Apple/Google/Facebook, then try to log in using the same email address but not via the Apple/Google/Facebook connect feature. Please always use the same method for singing into the Camps app or account portal to reduce the risk of duplicating your account.
Lastly, you may also have never registered an account with us at all and need to choose the “Start a 7 day Trial” option instead, this will register an account with us and give you access to the Camps App without any charges for 7 days so you can test out the Camps App before subscribing.
There can be several reasons for this issue arising;
First, you may not have actually registered an account with us yet. Please refer to the I am trying to sign in but the Camps App says the account is invalid? FAQ above to ensure you have a valid account held with Camps Australia Wide.
Next, the email link for your password reset has been blocked by your email servers Junk/Trash filter. Please check your Junk/Trash folder in your email to see if it has been blocked by the server.
Please Note: The password reset link is a timed link and will expire after 15 minutes from request. You can request a new link be sent to your email from within the link if it has expired.
Once you have completed your account registration you can log in the same account on multiple devices, or create multiple accounts using Family sharing.
You can access the Camps app on multiple device platforms AFTER you have completed registration. For example, once you have set up your account Via an Apple device, you are then able to Log into the same account Via an Android device or vice versa.
If you would like to set up multiple accounts under one subscription, so you and your partner can have your own favourites, trips etc, you must enable Family sharing on both devices.
Please refer to the How to set up Family Sharing FAQ right below this one for further instructions.
Please note: the App is not currently compatible with your laptop or computer browser.
On your iPhone or iPad
Invite people to join your family
As long as you both use iOS 8 and later, you can add anyone who has an Apple ID to your family.
On your iPhone or iPad
Joining a family group
Accept invitation to join directly from your device. You’ll get an invitation sent to you by email or text message. If you miss the email or text invitation, you can respond from your device Settings or System Preferences:
On your iPhone or iPad:
Go to Settings > Select Apple ID > Invitations. If you’re using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud > Invitations.
To accept an invitation, follow the onscreen instructions. When joining, you might be asked to confirm your account information and to opt-in to any features or services your family set up.
As the family manager, you can invite up to 5 people to join your family group. You can also remove people from your family group, or delete the family group completely.
To invite family members via Play Store app
Please note, at instruction 3, select Family, you may need to select Sign up now, to enable family sharing. Simply click the button and follow the instructions to enable, then continue with the remaining steps listed above.
If you are an active App subscriber your subscription automatically includes access to all App updates for the duration of your subscription period. We undertake two types of updates for the App – site information updates and new app feature updates and improvements.
Site Information Updates
This includes all updates to current site information as well as new sites and site closures.
You do not need to take any actions to get updates regarding site information, this is an automated process and the app updates each time you use the app. Regular users will have very small incremental updates and load times will be very quick, however if you have not used the Camps App for an extended period there will be more files to update and load times can take longer.
Please note you will need to have access to cellular data or Wi-Fi for updates to apply correctly. Any new site data will automatically update into the app whilst online, however you will need to manually update your offline maps for them to stay up to date. Please refer to the Offline Maps FAQ’s for further information.
App Feature Updates
As a subscriber you will also receive access to all new app features which are launched. These are free for all current subscribers and roll out on a regular timeframe.
These updates will happen automatically if you have them enabled in your device settings, otherwise you will need to manually update via the App stores. See links below for how to enable automatic updates for both Apple and Android devices.
To gain full unrestricted access to the App, you will need to subscribe to our Annual Subscription Plan. Our Annual plan has a free trial of 7-days so you can try the App with no strings attached for your first 7-days.
Once you have created an App account you will be presented with the details of the Camps Annual Subscription Plan at the low price of just $9.99 AUD/year and given the option to start your 7-day free trial.
To proceed tap “Start your free trial”. You will then be shown Apple’s or Google Play’s subscription confirmation pop-up. (This is dependant on the device type you are using – iOS or Android).
Here you will be asked to enter your Google/Apple ID password to confirm starting the free trial. This password is the one for your phone/tablet’s Apple/Google Play account, not your Camps Australia account password. Once entered and confirmed you will start the 7-day free trial and unlock access to all features of the App.
Please note: To start any app free trial advertised on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, both Apple and Google require you to have a completed Apple/Google Play Account including all billing information saved. If you are asked for any personal/billing details as part of the above confirmation process these aren’t being requested by the Camps App but by Apple/Google Play to complete your Account set-up with them. This could be because your account is incomplete or because previously added card information is now expired and requires updating.
Find out more about activating Apple free trials & subscriptions here: https://support.apple.com/en-au/billing and more about Google Play free trials & subscriptions here: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2476088
Once you have started your free trial, you can opt-out at any time within the free trial period if you do not wish to be charged. You can do this via your Apple App Store or Google Play Store Subscription settings. Information on how to do this is available via the links above.
If you love the Camps app and wish to retain using it beyond the free trial then you don’t need to do anything at the end of the free trial period. We will take care of setting up your subscription for you and you will automatically roll onto our Annual Subscription Plan.
You will be charged on the first day of your active subscription. Your subscription will auto-renew until you choose to cancel it. Please see the FAQ answers below on how to manage and cancel your subscription.
2. You will then be directed to our activation web page.
PLEASE PROCEED TO POINT 3 BELOW TO CONTINUE.
Start here if you have made an online store purchase and received a link to activate your 12-month free trial
1. Click the link located in your purchase confirmation email or follow up reminder email. Your purchase confirmation email will also include a QR code which you can also choose to scan to start the activation process.
2. You will then be directed to our activation web page.
3. Scroll down the page and read the 4 step instructions. Click the “ACTIVATE NOW” button to proceed to our activation portal.
TIP: If needed, you will also find additional FAQs and information on this page to guide you.
4. Once on the portal, register a new Camps Australia Wide App account, or log-in using your existing Camps App credentials
TIP: If you are registering as a new user, please enter your Full Name, Username, email address and password to create your account. Your password must contain at least 8 characters, of which one must be a capital letter, a number and a non alphabet character, for example !@#$% etc.
PLEASE NOTE: Also when using the Apple/Google/Facebook social sign-in option to register, your account settings and password are coming from your account held with those respective platforms. You will be prompted to log into your account with those platforms using the password you have set with that account. You must ALWAYS use this method for logging into the Camps App or account portal in the future. You cannot reset your password or change email address for these accounts as these settings are determined by your accounts held with the relevant platforms.
5. Then follow the prompts on screen to start the activation, add your credit card & billing details and confirm your acceptance of the 12-month free trial terms. Your card will not be charged at time of activation.
PLEASE NOTE: To make sure you retain access to the App at the end of your free trial period, you will be required to enter your credit card details during the activation process. However you won’t be charged until after the 1 year free trial has ended (365 days after activation). You can cancel your free trial at any time during the 12 months without being charged.
6. Once activation is completed, you will be shown a webpage, and sent an email, which includes links to download the Camps Australia Wide App. Click the download link relevant to your device type – either the Apple or Google Play – and complete the download process.
Once you have successfully downloaded the app onto your device, open the app and log-in using the account credentials you created/used in step 4 above. Now you are ready to go with free access for 12 months!

If you have any issues during the registration process or logging into the Camps app please contact support@campsaustraliawide.com or call 0407 230 021 during business hours.
To be able to successfully subscribe, you must have a valid payment method in place for your Apple or Google Play account.
Even if you just want to try the App out for the duration of the Free Trial period, this information is required by Apple and Google.
If you attempt to subscribe and it fails, this means your device’s Apple App Store or Google Play Store account either has no valid payment method currently set up or your previously saved credit card has expired and needs to be updated. Follow the prompts from your device and update these details if requested.
Please note these requirements are to do with your device’s Apple or Google Play account. This is NOT Camps Australia requesting this information and we have no access to your confidential payment information when you subscribe through the app stores.
Refer to the links below for assistance on this process:
https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201266
https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/4646404?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
The password asked for when you start a new free trial/subscription or renew a subscription is the one associated with your device’s Apple or Google Play Account (ID).
If your password is rejected here, this may be for a couple of reasons.
1. As this password request is coming from Apple/Google Play, please make sure to be entering the password associated with this account/ID. This password request is not coming from the Camps App so please don’t enter your Camps App account password in here.
OR
2. You may have forgotten your Apple/Google Play password. If needed you can reset this using the “Forgot password?” prompts on your device or via the Settings on your device.
Sometimes you may be logged onto multiple accounts on Android devices and the Camps App purchase may be associated with an alternate account.
First open the Google Play Store.
Next to the right of the Search Bar at the top of the screen you will see a coloured circle with the initial of your name, or a picture of yourself if you have uploaded one to your Google Account, Tap this to access your Google ID settings.
If you have multiple accounts registered, at the top of the list where your current account email is listed, tap the address to expand the list of registered accounts. You can then select an alternative account to search for the one with the active subscription.
If you successfully find your purchase of the Camps App attached to an alternate account, you will need to restore your purchase from the alternate account. Please the next FAQ below for how to do this.
It is advised to not operate multiple accounts on one device to avoid issues with payments and subscriptions.
These issues can be caused by not having a valid payment method registered with Apple/Google for your App store account. The Camps App cannot register the subscription with the App store if the account is locked by Apple/Google because no valid payment method is available.
This can mean you have never registered a payment with them previously or you have been issued a new bank card recently and the expiration dates no longer match. You need to update your account info with Apple/Google to unlock the account and allow Camps Australia to synchronise the subscription with the app store.
There can be several reason for this issue;
Your subscription may have lapsed or be associated with an alternate email address. Please check your subscription status before proceeding;
For Apple User please see the – How do I check my subscription status on Apple? FAQ above
Android Users please see the – How do I check my subscription status on Android? FAQ above
If you have confirmed that your account has an active subscription, please tap the “Restore Purchases” button in the bottom right corner of the Camps app to repair the connection to your account.
If your subscription has lapsed please choose to resubscribe within the Camps App login process to start a new subscription.
If no subscription is displayed on this list then your Apple/Google account does not have an active subscription associated with it and you will need to start a trial to access the Camps App.
Please note: Android users can have multiple accounts on one device, you need to make sure you are logged into the correct account on your device for the subscription to display on the list, refer to I have purchased the Camps Australia Wide App on my Android but it isn’t showing in my subscriptions list? FAQ for more information on this issue.
If you are still experiencing issues after this please contact support@campsaustraliawide.com or call 0407 230 021 during business hours for technical support.
After confirming you are running multiple accounts on your device, you will need to first delete the Camps Australia Wide App from your device before switching accounts.

It is recommended to completely remove the alternate account from the device to ensure no future transactions are placed on the incorrect account.
