Ahh the serenity at Lake Lenthall, near Maryborough, Queensland

Michelle and Heatley relaxing at Lake Lenthall near Maryborough, Queensland We had a fab night here! Lake Lenthall is a budget priced camp near Maryborough, Queensland. You’ll meet Ranger Rob – who was so helpful and full of knowledge. He and his wife were out today whipper snipping. They live onsite and really do take pride in the campground – it shows! The lawn was well tended, and the gardens looked lovely. Ranger Rob Every day, he opens the gate around 6am and closes it about 8pm. It is only 4 km from the grounds, but it is a rough,

Budget priced and pet friendly: Doonvilla RV Park, Maryborough, Queensland

Maryborough, on the Fraser Coast of Queensland, really gets the thumbs up from us when it comes to free and budget camping options. Doonvilla RV Park is run by the Doon Villa Football Club Inc. Next to Maryborough Airport, Qld. Don’t worry – we couldn’t even hear the planes when we were there, the larger airport is in nearby Hervey Bay. It is great to be helping a local club for children! Here’s one of the comments from our Facebook page: “And all of the players are thankful to everyone who stays! You’re helping plenty of kids get outside and active

12 tips for finding last minute campgrounds during peak season

This couple were very happy at Diamantina Cooper Rest Area, near Windorah and Quilpie, QLD For popular caravan parks and camps, you need to book ahead over peak periods like Christmas, summer, Easter, other school holidays and often The Dry season up north. Some bookings at iconic beach parks or camps can only be won in a ballot. But if you are like us, we don’t often plan ahead. We love not knowing where we’ll be that night. Perhaps you’ve just secured time off over summer, or you have some new camping gear for Christmas that you want to try out,

10 things to do and see in Tin Can Bay, Queensland

The small fishing and tourist town of Tin Can Bay is on the Cooloola Coast of the Gympie Region, between the Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast in Queensland. Here’s what we recommend you do and see whilst you are there: Feed wild dolphins The absolute drawcard for Tin Can Bay is its wild dolphins. They come in and feed most mornings and for a few dollars per person you can watch them, and a few more you can feed them a fish yourself! Unlike Monkey Mia where a few people in a huge group are selected to feed their dolphins, everyone

Memorial Bridge QLD Fraser Coast Region
Queensland

Memorial Bridge is a community’s pledge to remember their fallen

We were so impressed by this historical site, we’ve added it to the CAMPS App! Driving south of Teebar and Brooweena in Queensland’s Fraser region, I’m glad we stopped, it is worth checking out Memorial Bridge. “No Greater Sacrifice” are the words words you’ll read under the picnic shelter. Built by the community, in honour of their soldiers… it is the only privately erected war memorial in Queensland. Poignantly, the Woocoo Shire’s returned soldiers are listed on one pillar, and soldiers who lost their lives in WWII are on the other. Built by station hands from Mount Joseph Station and
