This little oasis between Gympie and Tin Can Bay has always welcomed current and past serving members of the Defence Forces, first responders and caravan clubs. Previous owners, Rod and Pam named the park “Standown” – a military term for rest and relax. They spent 18 years here, just a bare block with pumpkins and watermelons growing and a shed, and created this little piece of paradise, beside the pond and forestry. They also initiated ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day events – and with Vietnam Veterans’ Day coming
