March wrap up

We’ve found a few new campsites lately! Don’t worry, we’ll be sure to spread the word on our blogs in coming months and add into the App. Oh my goodness, word of mouth must be working because we are selling double the number of Apps now. Thanks for the great reviews on how easy it is to use. The new CAMPS 10 and CARAVAN PARKS 5 book sales are also keeping us hopping. We stopped in to an ARB Accessories Open Day at Maroochydoore, on the Sunshine Coast last week, and saw some very appealing rigs. It makes me look

Camping

Travel to Wuruma, Nambucca and Gympie!

I hope you are on the road right now, having fun! We attended a consultation for the draft RV strategy for our region, and followed it up with a country drive into the Mary Valley – checking on sites. Our feedback to council was to provide a greater number of RV camps across the region – they don’t need to include facilities plus! Rather than having huge dollars spent on one location – like plans for the Valley Rattler Terminal RV stop, we encouraged them to set up and publicise smaller sites, region wide. The coast was not included in

Experience the Nambucca Valley

View from the Nambucca Heads RSL Image Nev Cooper Here’s a topic I can tell you a bit about! My mum grew up in Nambucca Heads and Bowraville, so we regularly traipsed down to their cottage in Lee Street. I loved the beach walks, there’s beach after beach – shells, too. Visit the V Wall at Nambucca Heads where the river meets the ocean and walk along the boardwalk and check out the art on the rocks.  Shelley Beach in particular is very popular but not patrolled. There’s lots of great lookouts with beautiful views up and down the coast. Bellwood

Where has the free campsite been relocated to at Wuruma Dam?

Sunwater relocated the campsite at Wuruma Dam, QLD to near the dam wall and spillway, 2.6 km south of the old site. Recreational day use at the foreshore and boat ramp will continue.  The GPS coordinates for the new designated camping site are: 25 11 48.9 S 150 59 24.5 E Why the change? The new site provides 40 designated, equally sized, clearly marked camping spaces on flat terrain away from trees and the foreshore, for free. It opened March

Traveller’s Review: Foreshore Caravan Park, Nambucca Heads

Image Nev Cooper Nev and Alicia Cooper and their dog often stay at the Foreshore Caravan Park at Nambucca Heads, on the northern NSW coast. Please note in your CARAVAN PARKS 5 books NSW site 379, that the park IS pet friendly, there is a BBQ, but not a camp kitchen, and add in WiFi, dump point and drive through sites.  Just south of Coffs Harbour, the Nambucca coastline and river is a beautiful part of the world. Nev told us, “To give this park a plug, it is a small basic park close to shops with friendly owners,  is close
