Little River

The Northern Territory is home to an array of mysterious and impressive landforms that aren’t quite like anything you have seen before. Cape Crawford is no exception with it’s waterholes, waterfalls and ancient rock formations such as the ‘lost city’. Little River rest area is located 10 km West of Cape Crawford next to a tranquil river. Although there are minimal facilities, it is a lovely place to stop if you are travelling along the northern cape in a camper or caravan.

Where: 10 km West of Cape Crawford, 259 km East of Daly Waters.

Wolfe Creek Camp

Wolfe Creek

Wolfe Creek camp is located close to the second largest meteor crater in the world. The huge meteorite hit the earth approximately 300,000 years ago leaving an 850 metre wide crater in what is now known as Wolfe Creek National park. The camp site has basic facilities but you will need to make sure you have enough fuel and drinking water before you arrive.

Longreach Waterhole

Whether you are a keen bird watcher or just passing through the area, Longreach Water Hole Camp ground is a beautiful place to take a rest. The NT Waterhole is part of the Lake Woods wetlands and is home to an impressive range of bird life in the wet season. Please be responsible while camping here as it is an important conservation area that will be ruined if visitors are not considerate. As you will only find basic facilities here, this site is best suited to people who have a camper or caravan and can be self sufficient.

Robinson River Crossing offers a nice quiet place to stop for the night and an opportunity to do a spot of fishing. Since facilities are very basic it is most suitable for people with camper vans and caravans. If you are self sufficient you can enjoy a break from your journey under the shade of the trees and if you are lucky you will even have fresh fish to cook.
